The ministry posted the proposed ban on its website and invited public comment on the move, its latest attempt to clamp down on illegal behavior at the popular singing clubs. Le Anh Tuyen, head of the ministry's legal department has said:
The function of karaoke bars is for singing, not for dancing. The ban for dancing in karaoke bar is to limit the use of ecstasy pills. Any dance in a karaoke bar would violate the proposed ban but "behavior with less danger to society," such as simply moving to the beat of a song without using ecstasy, would not be fined.
Discussion continues as to who will monitor and decide what is dancing or what is "moving to the beat" all around the country.
Wow! How 20th century can you get? A ban on dancing? We used to do that here in the US. It just seems so primitive now. LOL Good luck with that. You will have young, smart people who will say "f*ck you" to such a ban. I can see riots and lots of underground responses to this type of nonsense. This is such a stupid rule. You are not going to limit the use of ecstasy by banning dancing in karaoke bars. LOL Please. If that’s all it took, we’d be doing similar such moves here. If a person wants ecstasy - they'll just take it some other time.
ReplyDeleteTheir (young and smart people) job is more difficult than you think. If I have to quote the omni-present authoritative figure of the so-called official, "behavior with less danger to society, such as simply moving to the beat of a song" is only less dangerous to the society compared to "stoned dancing".
